Sr. Systems Engineer, Hardware Development

Essential Duties: Design and optimize the Esterline Simulation Visual Systems (SVS) hardware to meet customer requirements. Works closely with the Product Management team, Solution Architects, Systems Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers to understand customer needs and requirements. Work with Software Engineers to implement, test, and update software solutions. Work closely with the other R&D team members to ensure flawless integration of Esterline's systems, such as leading related product development efforts with Mechanical Engineers to ensure related mechanics are accurate, including 3D models, BOMS, and drawings. Create PCBs and interconnection boards for the Esterline SVS hardware. Perform FPGA programming. Work with third party suppliers of hardware and components. Work with customers to resolve hardware related system failures / issues.  Provide additional customer support through visits and trade shows. Work on multiple projects simultaneously. Determine feasibility of designs; considering specification, costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, other technical and economic factors. Use ERP system for setting up parts and BOMs, and use ECPs to maintain proper Configuration Management for all hardware and software. Prepare development schedules and track progress of assigned designs to ensure timely completion. Prepare or analyze specifications and test plans including formal Acceptance Test Procedures. Prepare or approve technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, system layout drawings, assembly drawings and instructions of prototypes, products, and systems conform to requirements and specifications. Generate, compile, and analyze operational test and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or products. Troubleshoot faulty equipment, determine the underlying issue(s), and make design or manufacturing changes as required. Research, write, and present technical papers. Conduct Jurisdiction and Classification (JC) of components and assemblies to ensure proper US Export Control in accordance with Esterline Trade Compliance Policies. Requirements; Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields (BSEE, BSEET, BSCE, or BSCET). 10-20 years' experience in hardware / product development.  Avionics experience is a plus. Must be a US Person. Travel up to 20%, including international. Competencies: Perform complex multiple assignments on schedule. Ability to design and develop creative and innovative solutions. Must be a team player. Proficient using Mentor graphics tools to create schematics and drawings, a plus. Altera Quartus or Xilinx VHDL, Visual Studio (visual C and C#), Borland C++ Builder, a plus. MPLAB Microchip and Tortoise SVN tools, a plus. 3D Modeling experience (PTC Creo or similar), a plus. Relocation package available. 15535BR_EN

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
